Jennifer is a member of the Tompkins County Green Party and prioritizes the Green Party's Ten Key Values. Locally, she sees the following opportunities to realize these values:

Greenhouse Gas Emissions

The City of Ithaca should model conservation and reductions. Reduce fuel costs, waste and trash. Rebuild our Six Mile Creek water plant with care and attention to surroundings.

Green City Planning

Walkable and bikeable neighborhoods. Restore, maintain and renew City resources like parks, natural areas, sidewalks, bikeways and roads.

Mobility and Transportation

Walk, bike, bus, then drive. Invest to match these priorities. Make walking and biking easier. Implement the Collegetown Plan. Create a great parking management system. Fund TCAT fairly, recognizing demand.

Focus on our Local Economy

Focus on local people and resources. Bring money INTO the community. Involve and benefit the whole local community. Promote appropriate urban agriculture. Stop pursuing jobs that keep people poor. Send less local money away. More attractive affordable housing in the City.

Safety for our City

Reduce toxins locally and regionally. Keep gas drilling from fouling our water and land. Improve environmental review processes. Identify and clean up toxins we're stuck with, including TCE on South Hill and elsewhere.

Security through access and alliances

Build alliances between City government and residents. Work from a sense of respect & shared purpose toward more neighborhood security. Access to government for all, particularly less advantaged residents, with many ways to be heard and participate. Reduce barriers to communication and connections.
